I do a variation on the answering questions in forum posts. Instead of answering the question directly in the forum, I answer the question on my blog and then post the link to my blog in the forum. This way I'm not spamming the forum, but I am still getting the link love to my blog.
That is a great forum marketing technique. There are numerous possibilities for forum posts.
